When I saw "Pilgrim family" for the first time, I knew: This picture is a gate, a 'Gate to India'. André Wagner's works have this mysterious effect of opening spaces in which they hang - expanding spaces - connecting dimensions. He dissolves space and time. With his sensitive eye for the quality of light, the quality of color and the quality of timing, he makes visible something that is actually invisible:
The sacredness - the deep spirituality of an extremely mundane and everyday moment.
