Fire instead of water

It is deep night in the Abel Tasman National Park in the north of New Zealand's South Island. Not a sound can be heard, not a soul can be felt, only a small, lonely path traces its course through the misty hills. The cloudless sky allows the full moon to completely bathe the landscape, through which a river meanders on its quest towards the sea, in its magical light. And in the river: fire! Where, according to the usual manner, actually bubbling water would have its course, the infinite fire spiral draws its course.
